Okay, so this marks the beginning of my blogger journey, and I've decided to kick it off with a cake recipe as my first blog post.
I've been baking for over a decade now, but since becoming a mother, I've shifted my focus to healthy baking. Providing nutritious food to our little ones is every mother's aspiration, isn't it?
This wholesome loaf is a delightful treat for both kids and adults. It's healthy and guilt-free, and who can resist a healthy dessert or a tea-time bread?
Bananas are considered one of the superfoods for kids due to their strong fragrance and taste. When used as the main ingredient in baking, they impart a robust flavor with a delightful aroma.
Whole Wheat Banana Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1
cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2
teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2
teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4
teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 3
very ripe bananas
- 1/4
cup brown sugar (or you can use a combination of jaggery and white sugar)
- 1/8
cup oil (refined or olive)
- 1/4
cup milk
- 1/2
teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- A
pinch of salt
Additional:
- Chocolate
chips or walnuts (optional)
Recipe:
- Preheat
the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and grease a baking tray.
- In a
large bowl, mash the bananas and then add the oil and milk, mixing well.
- Stir
in the vanilla essence.
- In a
separate bowl, combine all the dry ingredients.
- Now,
combine the dry and wet ingredients and mix thoroughly. The batter will be
thick but easy to manage. If it seems too thick, add a little milk to
adjust the consistency.
- Optionally,
add chocolate chips or walnuts.
- Transfer
the batter to the baking tray and bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick
inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
- Allow
it to cool for half an hour before slicing.
